Trustee Ministry


  1. Responsible To: Church and Pastor

  2. Statement of Purpose:
    Though trustees are necessary for the effective and efficient operation of a local church body, it is not a biblical office. Trustees are a State mandate whose responsibility is to the physical property of the church.

  3. Goals:
    1. To make spiritual growth a priority by being an active participant in the ministry of teaching, training, and worship.

    2. To possess the ability to lead persons to Christ.

    3. To be faithful stewards over God's household affairs

    4. To manage with an openness to new ideas and creativity

    5. To utilize and manage available resources for completion of tasks

    6. To prayerfully lead congregation into action as well as appropriate decision making

    7. To possess the ability to leadn persons to Christ

    8. To remain proficient and organized in the execution of all responsitiblities

  4. Responsibilities:

    1. Evaluate and maintain the physical plant conditions of the church property under the direction of teh Pastor.

    2. Lead in development of approved phsyical plant projects.

    3. Make regular reports to Pastor and congregation regarding the well-being of the physical plant.

    4. Work with the janitorial staff in maintaining facilities that are reflective of the Good News of Jesus Christ.

    5. Assess and recommend changes in physical plant to accommodate various ministries.

    6. Develop format for congregational and community use of facilities.

    7. Monitor use of facilities.

    8. Keep abreast of and inform church of needed changes and/or repairs to facilties.

    9. Serve as member of Stewardship Committee.

  5. Interconnectedness:

    • Discipleship: To model and teach principles of good stewardship

    • Evangelism: Allow physical plant to minister the Good News of Jesus Christ

    • Missions: To inspire the congregation and others to use facilities with care and to make available for community, State and National needs.

    • Stewardship: To demonstrate sound management skills and judgment.
