When you're traveling to a place unknown you look at the map, street signs or check for landmarks to show you the way to ensure that you are going where you are supposed to be going. Living a Christian life is very much the same. The Holy Spirit provides the compass or the way; the Word is our map and all we need to do is obey. We all want to be happy in our lives. We go around and look for things that please us or give us joy. But too many times those things that give us happiness, those material things, are but for the moment, temporary. The Living God is, however, forever! True happiness is to know the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior; that is what true happiness is all about.
Christians are not those who are born into faith by virtue of their family members being Christians; nor is it an effort to do good everyday; neither is it a person who simply goes to church every Sunday. Being a Christian does not make you better than other people but rather assures you of having a personal counselor when you are in need.
Throughout our lives, we are all on a journey of exploring, discovering, recognizing and working through our problems, our weaknesses and failures. By accepting Jesus Christ into your life, God will shape your life so that you may have eternal peace, joy, and happiness. How does one become a Christian? Anyone can become a Christian. You don't have to wait until you have attended church for a number of Sunday mornings; or until you have accumulated a certain number of good deeds; neither should you wait until you stop a bad habit. Begin today, right now before it is too late! God has a plan to help you.
